Everybody is back and we’ve been working hard on new songs and new sounds befitting Austin’s #1 funk rock powerhouse (yeah!)! On Sunday, Jan 15, 2012, Austin Heat will play a one-hour show (8:00 pm) at Cedar Street Courtyard on 4th street in Austin. This is sort of an audition/battle-of-the-bands for some sweet SXSW time slot and an opportunity to impress some music industry people. The best possible scenario would be to pack the place with all our crazy, screaming, with-yo-bad-self friends. So, help the Heat, bring 2 friends and tell them to each bring two friend, etc., and we should have enough people there to build a human pyramid to the moon.
The night before, Saturday Jan 14, we’ll be at Pampell’s in Kerrville, which is an excellent restaurant and bar and just totally cool place. Tell your Kerrville people to bring two friends and for each of them to bring two friends . . .
And, every Monday we’re at the Thirsty Nickel on 6th street in Austin, from 9-midnight.

Austin is leaving for his annual ski trip with Bob Floyd Band ‘n’em, so we’re gonna kick back and continue working on our new album. We look forward to getting back in action really soon, but will force ourselves to relax until then.
Austin Heat will kick off a funky lineup of four kickin’ bands at the Hole in the Wall. The Heat in the Hole. Cool.
We’re playing at Hailey and Brian’s wedding this weekend in Dallas. Congratulations y’all! Next week, May 11, we’ll be at Roadhouse Rags in South Austin. And of course, on May 17, we’re playing the rawArtist.org show at the Parish Underground.
